Grammy Award nominated singer-actress Christina Milian ("It's About Time," "Be Cool") has been named as the new social media correspondent for the second season of NBC's "The Voice" (Mondays, 8-10 p.m.), it was announced today by Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming for NBC.

"Christina's extensive musical background and widespread recognition make her the perfect choice for the role of social media correspondent on 'The Voice,'" Telegdy said. "Her experience as a singer will provide a comfort level to our artists when they speak to her about the ins and outs of the competition. She is a hugely valuable addition as we prepare for another spectacular season."

"The Voice" is an innovative vocal competition series modeled after Holland's top-rated vocal talent discovery show, "The Voice of Holland." The series is hosted by Carson Daly and features the musician coaches working through the various phases of the competition with only the most talented vocalists. The show's second season will air mid-season.

NBC will use television's biggest stage following Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, to unveil the second-season premiere of "The Voice." The show also will premiere in its regular day and time on the following night, Monday, Feb. 6 (8-10 p.m.).

Four musician coaches of NBC's "The Voice" - Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton - will return this season.

Milian will make regular appearances during the live broadcasts. She will engage fans and connect them to artists and coaches from "The Voice Social Media Room" via Facebook, Twitter, NBC.com and NBC Live. In the live shows, fans who use #TheVoice or Tweet to the show, coaches or artists' official handles may see their Tweets appear in the lower third of the screen during cutaways during the live show.

Milian was most recently seen in the television movie "The Christmas Cupid" and "CSI," and recurs as the voice of Esther on "Family Guy." Milian also starred in the last installment of the popular franchise "Bring It On" in "Bring It On: Fight to the Finish."

Prior to that, Milian's feature-film credits include "Pulse" opposite Kristen Bell; "Be Cool," alongside John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Vince Vaughn; "Man of the House" with Tommy Lee Jones; "Love Don't Cost A Thing," a remake of the classic comedy "Can't Buy Me Love"; and the action-thriller "Torque," opposite Ice Cube and Jay Hernandez.

Milian's "It's About Time," released on Island/Def Jam Recordings, featured the mega-hit "Dip It Low," and combined her unique mix of urban, Latin and pop sound. By incorporating a myriad of influences from her background, Milian's sound reflects the pop arena and much more. Her self-titled debut, "Christina Milian," produced the hit "AM to PM."
