Do you know who will make health care decisions for you if you can't? Or why everyone should have a health care proxy? October is national Health Care Proxy Month, making it the perfect time to learn what you can do now to ensure your family and physician know your health care wishes.

Niagara Hospice will host two advance care planning clinics to help ensure participants' health care wishes are followed. Attorney Gary Billingsly will discuss living wills and power of attorney. Hospice social worker Cheryl Ferguson will discuss health care proxies, DNRs and MOLST. The speakers will answer common questions about advance directives, including what MOLST is and help clarify who needs a power of attorney or living will.

Each clinic starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Attend either Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the John Duke Senior Center, 1201 Hyde Park Blvd., Niagara Falls or Thursday, Oct. 27, at Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport. Free forms and refreshments will be available at each clinic.
