Kathy Harrington has announced her candidacy for re-election as Wheatfield Town Clerk. She is the endorsed Republican, Independence, and Conservative candidate.

Harrington has been a Wheatfield resident for more than 25 years. She is an active volunteer involved in various community activities, including the Wheatfield Farmers Market, committee member for the town's Youth Center and assisting with town holiday parties, dances and neighborhood meetings.

In her role as town clerk, Harrington has successfully consolidated the receiver of taxes function with the town clerk's office. This has resulted in a savings to the town of more than $10,000, as well as enhanced services for the residents, banks, escrow companies and attorneys. She has also introduced expanded hours making it more convenient to conduct business with the clerk's office.

Harrington attended Niagara Community College and Canisius College for business administration. She previously worked in the mortgage industry for 23 years in sales and as a branch manager.

"Through my involvement of community service and as an elected official, I recognize the commitment and dedication it takes to make a difference," she said. "I intend to continue to lend my knowledge and experience to our community leaders to continue to make a difference in the Town of Wheatfield, making it the best place to live, work and raise our families."

"The best part of my job is to work with all of our residents on a daily basis, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue," she said.
