Erie County Sheriff's Office Report for Aug. 26, 2011

The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports its officers responded to 156 calls from Aug. 13 to 19. Below is a sampling of only those incidents the ECSO reported to the Island Dispatch.

Saturday, Aug. 13

•Grand Island Boulevard, menacing - Following an investigation of a disturbance outside of a supermarket, patrol arrested a 23-year-old woman from West Seneca for menacing in the third degree and stalking in the third. The woman was transported to Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $500 bail.

•East River Road, burglary - A complainant stated that sometime over night his unsecured garage and vehicle were entered. Someone allegedly took various items. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

•Stony Point Road, marijuana possession - Following a traffic stop, patrol arrested four juvenile offenders from Grand Island for unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of fireworks. All juvenile offenders were issued appearance tickets returnable to Town of Grand Island Court.

Sunday, Aug. 14

•East River Road, criminal mischief - Complainant stated that they returned home from vacation and found graffiti on their property. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

•Grand Island Boulevard, larceny - Multiple vehicles were entered while parked in an amusement park parking lot. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Monday, Aug. 15

•Whitehaven Road, burglary - A building at a television station was entered at an unknown time. One item was seen taken. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

•Whitehaven Road, larceny - A complainant stated that unknown persons stole money from three arcade games at a bowling alley. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Thursday, Aug. 18

•Love Road, drunk driving - Following a traffic stop, patrol arrested 55-year-old George Spratford of Grand Island for driving while intoxicated. Spratford's blood was drawn to determine the blood-alcohol content, and he was released on traffic tickets returnable to Town of Grand Island Court.

Friday, Aug. 19

•Baseline Road, criminal mischief - A complainant stated that an unknown person damaged her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

•Bedell Road, traffic arrest - Following a traffic stop, patrol arrested a 25-year-old man from North Tonawanda, after a Department of Motor Vehicles check showed his license was suspended. Patrol also arrested the passenger, a 45-year-old man from Grand Island for unlawful possession of marijuana. The passenger was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Grand Island Court while the driver was transported to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $100 bail.
