The Adams Volunteer Fire Co. firefighters sure know how to handle water, and they want to deluge your car. Bring your dirty cars over to the Adams fire station at 7113 Nash Road on Sunday, Aug. 28, for a car wash.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $5, which includes a can of pop. The wash includes a wet-down, soaping and a complete rinse and window-dry.

Proceeds from the car wash are to go toward a new fire truck. Also Adams will sell the "911 buddy" at the front table at the car wash. The 911 buddy is an effective way to alert any first responder of the exact location of your emergency.
