In recognition of National Dance Day on Saturday, July 30, instructors and students from the Lewiston and Grand Island Dance Centers took part in the third annual Buffalo Dance Festival at the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts. Featured were daylong intensive sessions of master dance classes from Western New York dance companies, led by Jon Lehrer, Joseph Cipolla, Bill Evans and Christina Johnson.

Students from Lewiston Dance - Alyssa Antonnaci, Madison Cichocki and Lauren DiFonzo - participated in a special week-long choreographic intensive session that concluded with the festival performance. Included were world-class dance performances by Configuration Dance Theatre and Lehrer Dance as well as other professional companies. Miss Kathy, co-manager and director of Lewiston Dance Center, commented, "We are so very proud of Lauren, Maddie and Alyssa, who are taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity and we look forward to seeing them perform with these world class companies!

"We consider National Dance Day an opportune time for our studio instructors to broaden their dance perspective and share it with our students," she added.

Miss Rachel, director of the Lewiston and Grand Island Dance Centers, commented, "We look forward to the Buffalo Dance Festival every year because we are able to take master dance classes with the most dynamic local dance companies. This brings renewed energy and excitement in looking forward to our upcoming dance season."
