Erie County Sheriff's Office Reports for Aug. 5, 2011

The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports its officers responded to 194 calls from July 23 to 29. Below is a sampling of only those incidents the ECSO reported to the Island Dispatch.

Tuesday, July 26

•East River Road, vandalism - A complainant stated that, sometime during the night, an unknown person or persons spray-painted marina buildings on East River. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

•Whitehaven Road, larceny - A complainant stated that, sometime during the night, an unknown person or persons stole an air conditioning unit from the outdoor lot at a hardware store. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Thursday, July 28

•Bedell Road, attempted break-in - A complainant stated that, sometime during the night, an unknown person or persons tried to enter her residence through a window, which appeared to be pried. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Friday, July 29

•Love Road, suspicious person - Patrol located several youths in the area during the late hours of the night. The youths were advised and turned over to the custody of their parents.

•Bedell Road, narcotics arrest - Patrol arrested a 22-year-old man from Grand Island, charging him with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. The subject was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Grand Island Court.
