Nine students from Grand Island High School attended the 2011 National High School Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., this past week.

The Grand Island sophomores and students from Niagara Falls High School benefited from the generosity of the Irene E. Witkowski Agrawal Foundation, which aims to motivate and coach high school students to be leaders in their community. Through this program, students participate in workshops aimed at correct grammar and communication, leadership, and an opportunity to interact with students from across the country. The American Management Association and The Young America's Foundation are actively involved in training and motivating students to be better writers and leaders. Students will continue their education throughout the month of July and are involved in activities at both Grand Island and Niagara Falls High Schools.
