"Psych" stars James Roday and Dulé Hill will be making special appearances at select campuses throughout the tour, and each event will be hosted by a member of the "Psych" writing team, as well as creator, writer and executive producer Steve Franks. In addition to the sneak peek screening, there will be a moderated talent Q&A, interactive show trivia and premium giveaways, including fully loaded iPads and collectibles.
"We are psyched to be heading back to college and meet the 'Psych-Os' who have supported us through five seasons," said Roday. "Plus, I think Dulé still owes a paper on mitochondria mutation for introductory biology."
Hill added, "As a matter of fact, I got an 'A' on that paper! Seriously, we are thrilled to join our fans in celebration of ‘Psych' and have the opportunity to bring some delicious flavor to our fans."
"Psych" has shown unprecedented growth this past year in younger demos, especially with the P18-34 audience and in particular, the college community. For the first time, "Psych" has brought in more than one million viewers on average in this coveted demo, has surpassed one million fans on Facebook and has shown an impressive Twitter following among its ever-growing fan base.
In an era where social media is the new word-of-mouth, the campaign focuses on attracting millions of college students throughout the country. In addition to the live visits on the campuses, USA is also announcing "Campus Wars," where major colleges and universities will have an opportunity to be a part of "Psych" history. Starting Monday, Nov. 1, and running through the show's season five finale on Wednesday, Dec. 22, fans can compete to get their college or university's name into an upcoming episode of the show. At "Club Psych," fans can assign any top college or university to their profiles and every time they earn points (by watching videos, playing games or participating in other digital activities), the points can be credited to their school. At the end of show's fifth season, the school with the most points will be featured in a new episode when the series returns for its sixth season next summer.
