Kids are invited to join in a new kind of ghoulish fun.

The Niagara Falls Conference Center is hosting its first ever "Monster Mash Breakfast" and "Little Monster Parade" on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Old Falls Street in Niagara Falls.

Even though this is the first year of the event, organizers are optimistic and enthusiastic. Director of Special Events Heidi Christensen expressed her excitement, "There will definitely be a good turnout." She hopes to have hundreds of participants attending to ensure a successful event and another breakfast and parade next year.

The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. down Old Falls Street, starting at Rainbow Boulevard and marching to the Conference Center Niagara Falls. Children of all ages are invited to don their favorite Halloween costumes and join in the fun. Costume judging will take place during the parade, and winners will be announced during the breakfast at 11 a.m. Costumes will be judged in the following age groups: 4 and under; 4 to 6; 6 to 8; and 8 to 12 years old. Prize packs will be awarded to the best costume in each category.

The haunted breakfast will be held after the parade in the Conference Center. The buffet includes green scrambled eggs, "mummy" sausages, pancakes with oozing toppings and other favorites. Tickets are $7 (adults) and $5 seniors/kids).

The "Monster Mash" offers various activities, including crafts, making monster masks, filling popcorn-glove hands, decorating Halloween cookies and much more. The trick-or-treat bash will offer "ghostly" chocolates, candies and toys to the "little monsters." DJ Boy will play Halloween music along with a host of family favorites in this highly anticipated graveyard splash.
