David Axelrod, senior advisor to President Obama, makes first visit to Letterman

David Axelrod, senior advisor to President Barack Obama, will make his first visit to the "Late Show with David Letterman" on Wednesday, Oct. 6 (11:35 p.m. ET/PT) on CBS.

Axelrod has been a long-time associate of the president, first working with him during Obama's successful 2004 campaign for the U.S. Senate in Illinois, and later as the chief strategist for Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. In his current role as senior advisor, Axelrod's duties include not only crafting policy, but also communicating the president's message in coordination with the president, his administration, speechwriters and the White House communications team.

The "Late Show with David Letterman" is a production of Worldwide Pants Incorporated.  Barbara Gaines, Matt Roberts, Jude Brennan, Maria Pope, Eric Stangel, Justin Stangel and Rob Burnett are the executive producers.
