Castellani prepares for annual gala

The Castellani Art Museum is hosting its eighth annual fundraising gala "Fly Me to the Moon" is planned for Saturday, Oct. 16. Funds raised will support art education and exhibition-related programs serving more than 6,000 children and families in their local community each year.

The gala committee is looking for organizations and businesses to place ads in the program book for this year's gala. The advertisement will be distributed to an audience of up to 200 educated, affluent, cultural enthusiasts.

Proceeds from this event enable the museum to continue to provide inspiring and educational experiences for people of all ages and all walks of life. The deadline for ad placement is Sept. 15 for inside pages (the Aug. 11 deadline for cover ads has passed).

Harvest Moon Madness at Castellani Art Museum

The Castellani Art Museum's popular "Mixers at the CAM" series continues on Friday, Sept. 17.

These festive, seasonal events feature music, dancing, refreshments, a cash bar, raffles and door prizes. The theme for September's mixer is "Harvest Moon Madness," in honor of a new exhibition, "Fly Me to the Moon: Celestial Bodies from the Permanent Collection."

Ladies First Jazz Combo will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission is free for museum members, $10 others. For more information, call 286-8200.
