"Work has begun on the dog park," says LDOG spokesperson Molly Chamberlain. "Visit the Lewiston plateau area and see for yourself. Holes are dug and fence posts are going up. The dog park is finally happening."
LDOG will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, July 22, at 7 p.m. in the Village of Lewiston Red Brick Municipal Building boardroom. Discussed will be the new dog park and how LDOG will be working with the village and town in the future on its operations.
"The LDOG group would like to bring everyone up to speed on activities and how you can help," says Chamberlain. "The park is expected to open in ‘bare bones' mode within the next couple of weeks at the latest."
She says one way LDOG can show its appreciation is to uphold its commitment to the village and town and help "create the best community dog park possible."
"During the process of working with the town and village to secure a dog park for the community, LDOG made a commitment to work collaboratively with these entities. Now is the time to step up and truly make this a community dog park, one that all dog park users and individuals who just enjoy watching the activity can take pride and ownership in," says Chamberlain. "We hope you will join us in making our new dog park the best in Western New York. Hope to see you on Thursday, July 22."
Visitors to the meeting are requested to use the Onondaga Street entrance to the Red Brick.
