The Youngstown Yacht Club is holding its annual Level Regatta on Lake Ontario on the weekend of July 24-25. As in past years, approximately 300 sailboats representing many classes will race for prizes in their divisions.  The accompanying crews will bring more than 2,000 people to the Village of Youngstown for the event. Above is a look at the Youngstown Yacht Club in the heat of the activities. YYC notes the Level provides great competitive racing and also brings more than $100,000 in revenue to the area, providing jobs in food service, security, race course management and entertainment. Racers spend additional dollars at local establishments in the Village of Youngstown, providing merchants with one of the best revenue-producing weekends of the year. Although competitive, the racing is designed first and foremost to provide a good time for skippers and crews. More on this year's Level, in next week's Sentinel. (photo by Glenn Clark)
