Contributions from businesses and individuals still are being accepted for a benefit for the young daughter of Alan Dikcis, the Wheatfield soldier who was killed in Afghanistan in March.
The benefit, organized by a committee of local residents, will be held Saturday, June 12, at the American Legion Post 1451 at 6525 Ward Road in Wheatfield.
Doors will open at 2 p.m. The USA Band will entertain between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. A spaghetti dinner will be prepared by the staff from the Orleans-Niagara BOCES, followed by a basket auction starting at 5:30 p.m.
To make a basket donation, call Don Wallace 693-1922. Checks can be made out to The Benefit for Sophie Brown and deposited at any M&T Bank location.
Alan Dikcis grew up in Wheatfield and was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School.
