24 nonprofit leaders of color named as 2022 Fellows by The John R. Oishei Foundation

The John R. Oishei Foundation has named its latest cohort of 24 nonprofit leaders of color to participate in the Karen Lee Spaulding Oishei Fellowship for Leaders of Color program. Those chosen as Fellows will attend the Rockwood Leadership Institute's "Art of Leadership" program in October.

The colors, produce and fun of autumn were celebrated last weekend with a fall festival at Kelly's Country Store. Children enjoyed pony rides, as well as opportunities to feed llamas and other animals, as well as to view turtles, snapping dragons and assorted creatures. Food trucks offered a variety of foods for sale for all visitors.
Historic furs on display at River Lea

Sandy Dugan gets ride of a lifetime

As the blueberry-colored jet boat circled around the Devil's Hole gorge class five rapids, Sandy Dugan began to cry what she called "tears of joy." Strapped in a red lifejacket, gripping the handlebar above her seat cushion, Dugan looked out on the Niagara River from this vantage point for the first time in her 84 years. Taking it all in as the vessel gently rocked up and down, she proclaimed, "This is every bit as exciting as Alaska." As the jet boat picked up steam and ascended its highest crest, Dugan exclaimed, "I'm so glad we did that. It was wonderful!"

He submitted a conceptual site plan for 460 Center St. - including floor plans, fire protection, plumbing, mechanical and electric - on behalf of Ellicott Development.

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Wednesday announced construction is underway on a $21 million renovation project at Kleinhans Music Hall, a world-class arts and culture destination located in Buffalo. The project will upgrade and refurbish the National Historic Landmark and prevent further deterioration. Hochul recently announced $8 million in fiscal year 2023 budget funding for the project, in addition to up to $1 million in grants from Empire State Development.
