The Queen City Roller Girls are rolling into the 2013 season with a doubleheader at the Jan. 5 home opener, "Three's Company." The Suicidal Saucies will be taking on the 2012 Queen City Cup champions, the Nickel City Knockouts, at 6:45 p.m. at the Rainbow Rink, 101 Oliver St., North Tonawanda.

State crossbow law expires Dec. 31

The provisions in the Environmental Conservation Law that allow the use of crossbows for big game hunting, as well as eliminate a permit requirement for hunters with physical disabilities to use special archery equipment during any big game or small game hunting season, will expire on Dec. 31, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens reminded hunters this week.
