Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has announced the New York Power Authority board of trustees approved another round of low-cost power allocations under the statewide ReCharge NY program. Approximately 5.8 megawatts of low-cost power will be distributed among 14 businesses in Western New York, the Finger Lakes, Mid-Hudson area, New York City and Long Island, and are expected to leverage in excess of $207 million in capital investment commitments. Of the more than 2,400 jobs supported by this round of allocations, about 670 jobs are being newly created.

Through Gov. Andrew Cuomo's "NY's Open for Fishing & Hunting" initiative, hunters are invited to submit recommendations to regional waterfowl hunter task forces for the dates of the fall 2014 duck hunting seasons by April 4, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens announced Tuesday. DEC will evaluate the task force recommendations in setting waterfowl seasons, which must comply with federal rules.

Conrad, the former chairman of the Town of Lewiston Zoning Board of Appeals, was the top choice of Supervisor Dennis Brochey. He won unanimous approval from Town Board members to fill the seat vacated by Ernie Palmer.
