More than $10,000 in proceeds from the Robert G. Hoch Winter Memory Walk were donated to the Hospice Foundation of WNY on Tuesday, March 18.

The Winter Memory Walk took place along the West River during a bitter cold day Saturday, Feb. 8. Despite the frigid temperatures, the event raised $10,766, pushing the grand total during the event's four-year history to more than $33,000. A post-race party took place at Riverstone Grill as well.

Jennifer Wudyka, special events associate for the Hospice Foundation of WNY, said, "The money goes completely to patient care, which is our greatest need. And over 600 patients are being cared for by Hospice Buffalo daily."

Wudyka added that Hospice supports patients in hospitals, home care, and in-patient units.
