Grammy-nominated worship leader Kari Jobe just released her third album, "The Garden." It was the No. 7 best-selling album this week according to the Billboard top albums chart. In addition, it was the No. 2 album on the Christian and gospel chart, and the No. 6 album on the digital albums chart. The project also earned Jobe her third Billboard 200 top 25 chart debut.

Girl Scouts from all over Western New York gathered together for the International World Thinking Day event on Saturday. The Girl Scouts of Western New York spent the afternoon at Herbert Hoover Elementary School in Buffalo with 152 girls in attendance.

This week, Republican Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello was assigned to an additional committee for the 2017-18 legislative session. Morinello will now serve on the labor committee in addition to his previous committee assignments, which include committees on codes, higher education, housing and tourism, and veterans' affairs (where he is the ranking minority member).

At its annual meeting, the board of directors of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Foundation Inc. elected John Zak as chair and secretary, and Todd Scherrer as treasurer. Members also added BPO Chair Steve Swift as a new director. Additionally, Daniel Hart was named president, and Kevin James was named vice president of finance.
