The Child Advocacy Center of Niagara has launched a countywide campaign to promote safe sleep practices for infants and lower the incidence of deaths attributed to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

The SPCA of Niagara is still taking fire from animal rights protestors, but according to officials at the shelter a surprise inspection by the state Department of Agriculture and Markets last Friday showed that the facility passed 18 of 19 quality of care categories.

The first action of Monday's Wheatfield Town Board meeting was to issue a statement regarding the SPCA investigation. With more than 60 people filling the meeting room, Supervisor Bob Cliffe explained that although the SPCA facility is located in the town, this is a countywide issue affecting all 12 towns and three cities.

Jim Rome has signed a multi-year deal with CBS and will contribute across multiple CBS Corporation platforms. CBS Sports Network will launch "Rome," a new half-hour show airing weekdays at 6 p.m., hosted by Rome. In addition, he will host a new sports and entertainment series on Showtime adding to the premium network's ever-growing sports programming lineup. Rome also will contribute to CBS Sports' coverage of the NFL, NCAA basketball and U.S. Open Tennis Championships, as well as other select events. Panasonic Corporation of North America and the NBC Sports Group announced they will partner to make the London 2012 Olympic Games available in 3D to all U.S. distributors who carry Olympic coverage on cable, satellite and telco -- nearly 100 percent of the multi-channel industry. The effort will mark the first time that the Olympic Games will be distributed in the U.S. in 3D. Panasonic is NBC's exclusive flat-panel HDTV and Blu-ray disc player advertiser for the London Olympic Games.
