September electronic waste collection event tops 32 tons

The Erie County Department of Environment and Planning, in conjunction with the GM Tonawanda Engine Plant and Advanced Technology Recycling, announced more than 32 tons of electronic waste ("e-waste") was collected at a Sept. 12 recycling event held at the GM Tonawanda Engine Plant.

Therefore, the 2015 fire prevention theme has been designated "Hear the Beep Where You Sleep: Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm."
