Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday announced a plan to institute term limits for the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and comptroller as the first proposal of the 2022 State of the State. The governor will also propose a ban on outside income for statewide elected officials while serving in office. These reforms are aimed at increasing accountability and trust in the integrity of state government.

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday announced applications are now being accepted for the New York State Homeowner Assistance Fund (NYS HAF), a program that will provide up to $539 million in aid or other direct assistance to help eligible homeowners who are at risk of default, foreclosure or displacement due to financial hardship caused by the pandemic. New York was the first state in the nation to receive U.S. Department of the Treasury approval to launch its program.

The Niagara Falls Police Department on Tuesday announced an arrest was made regarding threats of gun violence at Niagara Falls High School. Charged with three counts of making a terrorist threat, a D felony, is a fifteen-year-old Niagara Falls resident. Due to the age of the arrested person, their name will not be released. The case will be directed to Niagara County Family Court.
