At a recent Town Board meeting in Wheatfield, Sara Taylor, a BTOP e-mobile trainer, spoke to Supervisor Don MacSwan and councilmen regarding bringing the program to the residents, despite the town's lack of a library.

Following, the work for "Feed the Falls - Christmas Blessing" will begin, where volunteers will deliver a free Christmas dinner right to the doorstep of a family or individual in need.

Carnegie Center holds biggest 'Art off the Wall' to date

The Carnegie Art Center hosted a big night this past Thursday for its annual "Art off the Wall" event. The largest wall was covered with small 5-by-7-inch pieces of art, while the space also contained a room dedicated to 12-by-12-inch canvases and even tinted glass that were bid on silently by artists' fans.

The Niagara Falls LongHorn Steakhouse served a free breakfast on Sunday to about 150 children and families who receive services from either Community Missions of the Niagara Frontier or Pinnacle Community Services (formerly Family & Children's Service of Niagara). Those same guests also took home gifts purchased by restaurant staff.

The award for Best Cheese went to Jaco's Pizzeria. Sammy's Pizzeria took Best Specialty for its "7-1-6" pizza, which features chicken fingers and steak. The People's Choice award went to Favorites Pizzeria in Lewiston for its honey garlic chicken pizza.

Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in downtown Niagara Falls welcomed the holiday season Wednesday night. A free event was held on Seneca Square Bridge, and featured Santa and Mrs. Claus, Buffalo sports mascots and Seneca Gaming Corp. leaders. A large crowd was welcomed and invited to watch as the Christmas tree was lit. The Lewiston-Porter Lancers 2018-19 basketball season could be summed up in one word - historic. The squad went 21-4, won the Niagara Frontier League title, a feat that hadn't been accomplished in 34 years; were victorious in the Section VI Class A championship and made an appearance in the Far West Regional before the season came to a close. All in all, it was the program's best season in 41 years.

There was an eerie feeling of knowing certain death was lingering above them. However, this was not the time to think of the inevitable. The swaying of the ship made more than 100 different seamen from all over the vessel sick; in addition, there was no space and limited food to add to the misery.

2018-19 was one of the best seasons in the long history of Niagara Falls High School basketball. The team finished 21-4, won its fourth straight Section VI Class AA title and reached the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Final Four for the first time in 10 years.
