The Erie County Department of Senior Services announced the expansion of the "Go and Dine" program. Four meal vouchers have been made available to participants each month and can be used at locally owned and operated participating restaurants. Due to COVID-19, the department is expanding the program to eight meal vouchers per month. It is also looking for new restaurants to expand its range across Erie County.
Catholic Health expedites launch of telehealth virtual medical visits

To create a more comfortable and convenient care experience, Catholic Health has partnered with Teladoc to launch a telehealth pilot program this week for its associates and their eligible family members covered by the system's health insurance plan. Catholic Health accelerated the program launch in response to the urgent need for social distancing and self-isolation across the region.

Today, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced it is issuing new mortgage payment relief guidance under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) for borrowers with multifamily mortgages insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) or borrowers participating in other HUD Multifamily housing programs.

Congressman Brian Higgins announced residents can now check the status of direct payments provided through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. On Wednesday, the U.S. Treasury announced the launch of the "Get My Payment" app, which allows Americans to track the status of their emergency relief funding and add bank direct deposit information if the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) doesn't already have it on file.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today is granting public housing authorities (PHA), Indian tribes and tribally designated housing entities (TDHEs) waiver authorities and ultimate flexibilities so agency staff can focus on assisting their tenants and properties during the COVID-19 pandemic. HUD's Office of Public and Indian Housing provides housing assistance to approximately 3.5 million families across the country.
Poloncarz issues emergency order closing campgrounds

Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz on Tuesday issued a local emergency order closing all campgrounds, as defined by 10 NYCRR 7-3.1, which require a permit to operate under the New York state sanitary code. The order also prohibits the use, at any campground within Erie County, of any camping cabin, camping unit, campsite, or seasonal campsite as defined by 10 NYCRR 7-3.1, by any individual at any time.

Beginning this week, Tops will be rolling out additional safety measures at all of its 162 stores in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont. Those safety measures include providing all of its associates with American-made cloth face masks to ensure their associates health and well-being while serving the community as essential workers.
