Future plans aspire for Fairmount Park

Town of Wheatfield officials broke ground Monday on phase one of the Fairmount Park improvement project, one that will include a new handicapped-accessible bathroom facility and a trail system that will connect sites within the park.
Lockport CARES receives donation from Bryant and Stratton College

Lockport CARES Vice President Toby Mansfield was recently presented with a check for $380 from students of Phi Beta Lambda on the Amherst campus of Bryant and Stratton. Bryant and Stratton students collected the money last semester for the Lockport CARES emergency shelter on Genesee Street.

Ortt announces $500,000 for Niagara Falls Air Base

State Sen. Rob Ortt today announced $500,000 in state funding to establish an emergency management hub at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. Ortt secured the funds in the 2015-16 state budget (Empire State Development Corp., Aid to Localities, S. 2003-C) to help base retention efforts for NFARS.
