Albert Lewis III, a recently graduated Niagara-Wheatfield High School student, was awarded a $500 scholarship from the Lewiston Community Lions Club. Lions John and Theresa Tourbin were present at the awards luncheon to present Lewis with his check.

Chief Chris Salada finished his last day on the job and, at least for the time being, department operations will be maintained via seniority with LPD Sgt. Frank Previte expected to oversee day-to-day affairs until a replacement is officially named.

The sign designates a portion of Route 93 as the "Youngstown Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Highway."
