Hochul announces completion of $20 million affordable & supportive housing development in east Buffalo

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday announced the completion of Mount Aaron Village, a new $20.3 million affordable and supportive housing development in east Buffalo. The development features 59 apartments, including 18 for people who need supportive services to live independently.

The Salvation Army is joining forces across New York state to encourage people to consider donating $20 on the 20th of December as a last-minute push for the 2022 red kettle fundraiser. As of today, The Salvation Army Empire State Division has raised about 50% of their $3.75 million goal for their red kettles this year.

Today's national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.14, down 12 cents from one week ago. One year ago, the price was $3.31. The New York state average is $3.49, down 10 cents since last Monday. A year ago, the NYS average was $3.51.

Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski on Tuesday said the federal Department of Homeland Security is delaying enforcement of REAL ID requirements by 24 months, from May 3, 2023, to May 7, 2025. At that time, one will need a REAL ID to board any domestic flights, enter a military base and access certain federal facilities.
