Lewiston: Mayor Terry Collesano stepping down

Village of Lewiston Mayor Terry Collesano held a press conference Monday morning to announce he will not seek a third term as the municipality's chief executive. He was joined in the Morgan Lewis Village Boardroom by family, friends and colleagues.
'Voodoo Threauxdown' featuring Trombone Shorty & Friends announced for Artpark Tuesdays

In honor of Fat Tuesday - and as New Orleans celebrates its 300th anniversary in 2018 - it was announced Feb. 13 that the "Voodoo Threauxdown" headlined by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and featuring Galactic, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and New Breed Brass Band, will make its way to Lewiston. The performers will bring their touring street party to Artpark's "Tuesdays in the Park" on Aug. 14.
Artpark: Vanessa Williams in concert with BPO on July 19

Television, film and Broadway star Vanessa Williams and her band will join the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in a special concert event at the Artpark Mainstage Theater at 8 pm. Thursday, July 19. Under the baton of Stefan Sanders, Williams will perform songs that span her impressive career, including "Dreamin," "Save the Best for Last" and "Love Is."

HS Hoops: Battle of the Border games come down to wire

For the third year in a row, the Battle of the Border brought talent from north of the border in Ontario to Niagara Falls High School to face off against some of the best that Western New York has to offer. Although only three Canadian teams played in this year's classic, the players from Canada represented their side of the border well, winning two of the three games. There were also some familiar faces from last year's battle who returned to the Wolvarena for another bought with an American high school. Here is a full recap from the action on Saturday.

Mountains of pillows and a roomful of toiletries greeted Passage House Domestic Violence Services staff when they arrived at the City of Niagara Falls Department of Public Works on Monday afternoon. For the past six weeks, United Steelworkers Local No. 9434 and Women of Steel have collected shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, combs, pillows and sheets for the Family & Children's Service of Niagara program. Most items were purchased and donated, while others were handmade and personally delivered.
