The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority and the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area (NFNHA) have selected Jalen Law, a local professional artist, to create a new mural inside the Portage Road Transportation Center. Based on his portfolio and prior engagement in the Niagara Falls community, Law was selected from a group of artists who responded to NFTA-Metro and NFNHA's call for artists at the end of 2020.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday announced 10 transformational projects for Niagara Falls as part of the $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative award. His camp stated, "The strategic investments will strengthen small business, support private investment in underutilized buildings, and bring new residential units, commercial space, and a hotel to the historic Bridge District. The investments are part of the governor's ongoing efforts to revitalize the upstate economy and create more opportunities for the Western Region."

Andrew Cuomo on Thursday announced New York State Police and another law enforcement agency issued 444 tickets during last week's "Operation Hardhat" an initiative between law enforcement entities, the New York State Department of Transportation and the New York State Thruway Authority, to crack down on work zone violations and highlight the importance of safe driving when encountering construction, maintenance and emergency operations along state highways.

Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced large-scale outdoor event venues will only be limited by the space available for patrons or parties of patrons to maintain the required social distance of 6 feet starting May 19. This will apply to outdoor sports, performing arts and live entertainment, and horse and auto racing venues statewide. Its estimated the industry could bring in $350 million in tax revenue each year and potentially create 30,000 to 60,000 jobs.
