Cuomo on Wednesday announced that, beginning Thursday, May 21, religious gatherings of no more than 10 people will be allowed statewide where strict social distancing measures are enforced and all participants wear masks. As part of a "Salute to WNY," a 914th Air Refueling Wing KC-135 from the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station and three F-35 fighter wings from the Vermont National Guard flew over parts of Western New York on Tuesday to salute frontline COVID-19 health care workers, essential employees and emergency responders. The planes were slated to fly over almost a dozen-and-a-half medical locations throughout the late morning.

New York Attorney General Letitia James announced an agreement with Zoom Video Communications that will provide security protections for more than 200 million users on the platform. Dozens of people were out and about in the Village of Lewiston enjoying the summer-like weather. They were walking down Center Street, eating on picnic tables and sitting on benches, looking at monuments, licking ice cream in Academy Park, and sprawled out on Water Street, looking out on the river. Many of those people were not wearing a mask or cloth face covering.

The Buffalo History Museum has launched a new initiative to collect the stories of the community amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. All stories will be preserved in the museum's archives and become part of its collection. A press release said, "The community's contributions ensure evidence of this time for future research, reference, projects, exhibits, and programs."
