The New York State Senate Republican conference has introduced a concurrent resolution (B477) to rescind Gov. Andrew Cuomo's mandate that prohibits bars and restaurants from serving alcoholic beverages to patrons who do not order food.

The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops Friendly Markets is inviting local artists (students and the general public alike) to capture its essence in art by entering in the 2021 poster art contest. This year's festival, taking place July 10-11, will be back as a live event and is planned to take place in Niagara Square and on a portion of Delaware Avenue. This year's event will be modified to comply with any COVID-19 restrictions that may still be in place in July.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos on Wednesday announced proposed regulations to implement a new statewide waste reduction initiative that supports food donation to help hungry New Yorkers and food recycling to help prevent the landfilling of food scraps. The proposed regulations would require composting and the donation of edible food by large food scrap generators to promote an effective reuse of materials otherwise headed for landfills.

Nowak, J.S.C., granted a preliminary injunction against a New York State Department of Health order placing portions of Erie County into a micro-cluster action initiative "orange zone." He allowed the almost 100 applicants permission to operate under "yellow zone" restrictions "pursuant to the DOH's Interim COVID-19 Guidance."
