Level 9 and 10 gymnasts from Gleason's School of Gymnastics traveled to Orlando, Fla., last month to compete in the Presidential Classic. The meet was held Feb. 19 and 20 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and was hosted by Twisters Gymnastics from Boca Raton, Fla. More than 1,700 gymnasts of various levels competed from all over the country.

For the first time in Lewiston-Porter High School history, four students advanced to the New York State Public High School Sports Association Wrestling Championships at Times Union Center in Albany. Following an 18-3 overall season - a successful run for the team - Ryan Kromer, Dan Reagan, Joe Hill and Bashar Srouji represented Lew-Port at the Section VI wrestling tournament last weekend.

This year's fundraising will benefit Child Advocacy, Community Missions and Kick Start Kids. Presti Karate has donated more than $49,000 over the years to such local children's programs.

For the past several years Firth's Jewelers of Niagara Falls has been providing track champions of Ransomville Speedway with awards at the Big R's season ending banquet. Champion's watches engraved with "Ransomville Speedway Champion" and the year are awarded to the five titlists, while their significant others are recognized with a racer's bracelet. Miss Ransomville also receives a bracelet as a token of the speedway's appreciation.

New state regulations have cleared the way for snowmobilers to use the Canalway Trail. The activity previously had been prohibited along the 280-mile trail that parallels most of the New York state canal system in upstate New York.
