The Mental Health Association in Niagara County will host a cornhole fundraiser, "Cornhole for a Cause," from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at the Davison Road Inn, 383 Davison Road, Lockport. Proceeds from the sales will go toward programming and services for those living with a mental health diagnosis and their families in Niagara County.

The Village of Lewiston celebrated its new inclusive playground Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Marilyn Toohey Park behind the Red Brick Municipal Building. Since the site opened earlier this summer, it has been a popular location for families with small children. The splash pad has been particularly busy.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the launch of a new public awareness campaign on treatment options for people who test positive for the coronavirus and have symptoms. The approximately $1 million awareness campaign will run in English and Spanish across TV, radio and digital media, encouraging New Yorkers to test early for COVID-19 and treat it as soon as possible if they test positive.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will kick off their 2023 international tour with 31 performances across the U.S.; spanning from Feb. 1 in Tampa through an April 14 homecoming in Newark, New Jersey, before heading to Europe. The shows will mark Springsteen and The E Street Band's first tour dates since February 2017, and their first in North America since September 2016.

The Niagara Falls National Heritage Area is seeking four artists to paint murals on Main Street and Depot Avenue in Niagara Falls. The "NF Murals Project" there is entering its fourth mural-making phase, following completion of 16 murals since 2019. Murals feature stories of freedom and champions of change in the Highland community of Niagara Falls.
