Niagara County Clerk Joseph Jastrzemski hosted a brief ceremony on Tuesday to open a display of the Niagara County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and the "Our Photo Album" exhibit featuring photos taken by Vietnam veterans during their tours of duty. The display will be open at least through Veteran's Day (Thursday, Nov. 11) at the Niagara County Courthouse in Lockport.

Tuesday morning, at the "Murmuration" art installation, New York nonprofit organization Parks & Trails New York presented a "big check" to Artpark & Company. This was done to acknowledge a $50,000 award to create a comprehensive wayfinding system and incorporate public Wi-Fi along Artpark's pathways. The goal is to provide data access to a diverse demographic of visitors, and to serve as a functional necessity for an interactive signage system and data collection.

Colin Powell, a New Yorker and son of immigrants who rose to the height of American public service during a distinguished career. As the first Black person to serve as National Security adviser, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and secretary of state after graduating from the City University of New York, Gen. Nisbet released the following: The body which was recovered on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2021, from the Lower Niagara River near Niagara on the Lake in Canada has been positively identified as Kameron D. Stenzel of Sanborn, New York. Stenzel was last seen in the Lower Niagara River near the whirlpool on Oct. 11, 2021.

Mayor Robert Restaino invited stakeholders in the Niagara Falls community to discuss plans for a new, multifaceted year-round event campus. Thursday afternoon at City Hall, Restaino, alongside his partners at CJS Architects, presented initial renderings of everything the facility has to offer both tourists and residents of Niagara Falls. Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday signed legislation (S.64/A.1524) establishing a statewide restaurant meals program as part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. The legislation mandates the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance to apply for USDA approval to authorize the program, which would allow homeless, elderly and disabled SNAP recipients to use their benefits for prepared or hot food from participating restaurants
