Niagara University folklorist Edward Yong Jun Millar recently received an Archie Green Fellowship from the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress to document and preserve the stories, experiences, knowledge and traditions of workers involved with the Ransomville Speedway. Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday signed legislation (S.4336/A.6163) requiring all passengers in motor vehicles over the age of 16 to wear a seat belt. Currently, passengers aged 16 and older are only required to wear a seat belt in the front passenger seat next to the driver.

Earlier today, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced three additional states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., meet the metrics to qualify for the travel advisory requiring individuals who have traveled to New York from those areas, all of which have significant community spread, to quarantine for 14 days. The newly added states are Illinois, Kentucky and Minnesota. No states have been removed.
