New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos announced an online public meeting will be held Wednesday, March 18, to discuss changes in 2020 chinook salmon stocking locations on Lake Ontario. These changes were developed in consultation with a focus group comprised of anglers and charter captains and are designed to maximize contributions of stocked salmon to sportfisheries.

United Way of Greater Niagara will host its 10th annual meeting and awards breakfast on Friday, April 3, at the Niagara Riverside Resort (formerly Four Points Sheraton), 7001 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls. The event will celebrate the success of UWGN's 2019 annual campaign, which raised over $1 million to provide vital funding to 29 agencies in Niagara County.

A new AAA survey on automated vehicles reveals only one in 10 drivers (12%) would trust riding in a self-driving car. Even more Americans - 28% - don't know how they feel about the technology, signaling that consumers are stuck in neutral on the road to accepting self-driving cars. AAA believes consumer sentiment of automated vehicles will be driven by tangible information on key issues and, equally important, quality education and experience.

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Foundation Inc., the nonprofit corporation established to provide oversight for the BPO's endowment fund, announced the re-election of John Zak to an additional one-year term as chair, and the election of Aleks Spellman and Holly Hejmowski as new directors for a three-year term.
