Catholic Charities launches 100th annual Appeal

Last year, Catholic Charities of Buffalo celebrated 100 years of serving the Western New York community. This year also marks something equally special - our 100th annual Appeal. The backbone of stability for our organization, the annual Appeal has allowed us to continue our mission of providing "HOPE" for all seasons for the last century.

The Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island thanks the hundreds of individuals and organizations who contributed to our successful 2023 holiday distribution. Ninety-three of your neighbor families were aided with gift cards and food, benefiting 182 adults and 153 children; 59 of our seniors were also assisted in two senior apartment complexes.
Snowstorm success: Town Highway crew's response a winter winner

In the days prior to Jan. 13, the forecast was for high winds and heavy snow. Grand Island was on the radar for 8 to 12 inches, and the town Highway Department was ready with plenty of plows, personnel and a plan to combat the forces of nature.

Catholic Health has received two grants from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation totaling $2,125,000. The larger of the two grants - $2,000,000 - will help fund two new CT scanners for Mercy Hospital of Buffalo's busy emergency department (ED), which serves nearly 25,000 patients each year. The remaining $125,000 will support ongoing medical outreach to Buffalo's westside community.
