NYS general permit now available to expedite recovery efforts after major storm events

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have issued the first state programmatic general permit (NYSPGP-1), which authorizes activities to facilitate the recovery and restoration of damaged properties, projects, aquatic resources, and infrastructure following major storm events.

The Buffalo AKG Art Museum announced it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a Grants for Arts Projects award of $50,000. This grant will support "Stanley Whitney: How High the Moon," what the AKG called "the first retrospective exhibition to trace the evolution of artist Stanley Whitney's wholly unique and powerful abstractions over the course of his 50-year career."

Catholic Health has received two grants from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation totaling $2,125,000. The larger of the two grants - $2,000,000 - will help fund two new CT scanners for Mercy Hospital of Buffalo's busy emergency department (ED), which serves nearly 25,000 patients each year.
