Niagara University's student chapter of the Club Managers Association of America was named Student Chapter of the Year by the association at its 2024 World Conference and Club Business Expo, held March 4-8 in Las Vegas. HUD awards $1.6 million to Seneca Nation

Niagara County Commissioner of Public Works Garret Meal and Orleans County Commissioner of Public Works John Papponetti joined New York State Sen. Rob Ortt and several town highway superintendents from both counties at a press conference to push back against Gov. Kathy Hochul's proposed budget cuts to the CHIPS program. The CHIPS program is an important source of funding for road maintenance and improvement projects.

The six-week workshop starts April 15 and is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until noon Mondays at the North Tonawanda Library, 5050 Meadow Drive.

Maid of the Mist returns April 4

The iconic all-electric Maid of the Mist, which has been in continuous operation since 1885, sets sail on the 2024 season at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4. Tours will depart every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends. The hours of operation will be extended throughout the summer.
