Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-I-Lewiston, announced Friday the latest Consolidated Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) funding to local municipalities. The funds are part of the 2012-13 state budget that Ceretto helped to enact. Niagara County and its local governments are set to receive more than $5 million in CHIPS funding.

Assemblyman John D. Ceretto attended the grand opening Thursday of Edwards Vacuum North American Headquarters in Wheatfield. The company made the decision to locate its headquarters in Niagara County after receiving incentives from Empire State Development Corporation and the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency.

Allegiant announced Friday it will end its scheduled service between Niagara Falls International Airport (IAG) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). State Sen. Mark Grisanti, R-60th District, today announced the sponsorship of legislation (S6875) that would amend the agriculture and markets law to have the commissioner create an animal abuse central registry in New York for anyone over the age of 18 who is convicted in a case of animal abuse.
