Village of Lewiston scaling back

Yesterday, Niagara County Legislator Becky Wydysh declared a state of emergency for Niagara County as the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread across New York state. The Village of Lewiston, in consultation with Niagara County, continues to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of our employees, residents and the public.

The Aquarium of Niagara will close to the public at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, and remain closed through 9 a.m. March 28, in response to COVID-19. All scheduled events and programs within that timeframe are cancelled.

Staff members of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services' Lewiston office on Wednesday presented a $2,000 check to representatives of the Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo. The donation event, held at Lower Niagara Moose Lodge 584, represented one-half of proceeds from Howard Hanna's 50/50 drawing held locally to benefit its "Children's Free Care Fund."
