Left of Center by Joshua Maloni
Lewiston’s queen is about to get a new throne.
Brooke Unversaw is moving her business, Queen B’s Cottage, to 444 Center St., taking over the unit formerly rented by 3 Sisters Garlic & Oils.
“I’m excited to be directly on Center Street,” she said Tuesday. “I love my current cottage on Ridge Street. It’s very quaint, charming and cozy, but it definitely has its challenges not being on Center Street. I know the space is small in comparison to what I have now, but it will force me to be more selective with my product lines that I carry. I will be keeping some of my customer favorites such as the DCUK wooden ducks, the snarky cocktail napkins and dishtowels, my candles, Warmies, and the wall signs.
“It will also give me the ability to be even more creative with my displays to maximize the space.”
Queen B’s Cottage opened in 2022 behind the International Peace Garden at 475 Ridge St. – the “Big Yellow House” formerly occupied by the Lewiston Council on the Arts. Prior to that, Unversaw had worked with The Country Doctor Antique & Gift Shop and Canterbury Place.
In a Small Business Saturday feature, she explained her store is “more of a home décor gift shop. Everything's mostly new. I have a few little vintage pieces sprinkled in, because I like to mix the new and the old. But it's, I would say, 90% new.”
Queen B’s Cottage has offered everything from the DCUK (The Original Wooden Duck Company) line to florals, crystal trees from Moser Glass to bath and body products from FarmHouse Fresh, vinyl floormats to hook pillows, baby products to charcuterie boards and wine glasses.
“I want people to be able to come in and walk out with a gift,” Unversaw said at that time.
Queen B’s Cottage is moving from Ridge Street to Center Street, where it will share building space with Brewed and Bottled Craft Beer Shop, Battle Flag Tavern and Sgt. Peppers Hot Sauces, Etc.

In a social media post, 3 Sisters Garlic & Oils noted its village location has been “a destination for Garlic lovers & culinary enthusiasts alike. As we prepare to close our doors in Lewiston, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our customers over the last year. Our journey has been filled with passionate flavors, delightful experiences, and strong friendships.
“Thank you for being part of our story. While we may be closing this chapter in Lewiston, the love for garlic lives on at our main location in Cambria 4078 N Ridge Rd 14094.”
On a post announcing Queen B’s relocation, 3 Sisters added, “Sad to say goodbye but so excited for this business !!!”
Unversaw said, “I will be moving in the last week of February, so please bear with me as we get settled in our new spot. But please stop by and say, ‘Hi’; and by all means, if you need something, don’t hesitate to come on in!”
