There’s vocally gifted, and then there’s Sarah McLachlan.
The Canadian singer once again showed why she’s considered one of the top vocalists on Earth, delighting a sold-out Artpark Mainstage Theater audience on Tuesday. McLachlan performed a string of hits – including “Sweet Surrender,” “Building a Mystery” and “I Will Remember You” – before recreating her now 30-year-old album, “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy.”
Prior to her performance, the Grammy and Juno award-winning McLachlan shared news about her educational initiative, the Sarah McLachlan School of Music, which is providing opportunities for youth in Vancouver, Edmonton and Surrey. $1 from each ticket will go to support SoM.
Feist served as the opening act, performing a singer/songwriter set headlined by her smash hit “1234.”
In between acts, the Artpark audience was treated to a mixtape filled with songs from 1990s-era female singers and female-fronted bands.
