Just like the first Fairy House Festival a decade prior, the 10th annual event was filled with art, costumes, music and more than a little improv.

Artpark & Company welcomed families to Lewiston – in timed increments adhering to state safety guidelines – for a celebration of nature. Majestic winged creatures led visitors on a tour of local artist and community-created fairy houses deep within the Artpark woods, where they were greeted by colorful and intricately adorned fairy performers. Trails of fairy houses lined the pathways.

This year’s event featured roaming musicians with new costume creations by Uta Bekaia, a Georgian-born multimedia artist currently residing and working in New York and Tbilisi. Inspired by ancient mythology, fairy tales, Italian baroque and Georgian dada, Bekaia – with his exuberant, sculptural costumes – reinvents and restages long-lost, never-before-documented rituals.

Fairy House Festival artists included Miggie Wong, Jeremy Grzybowski, Rachel Grzybowski, Robin Gabriella Damiano, Catie and Alexandria Dillemuth, George White and Marleen Stamp, WJ Hurley, Charity Huff, Tammy ODierno, Alexandra Lee, Casey Mark Shultz, Meredith and Samantha Phelps, Rylee Luczak, Candace and Leela Masters, Ani Hoover, Shasti O'Leary Soudant, Jesse Walp, Bethany Krull, Suzie Molnar Goad, Juniper Moon, Hilary McAndrew, Leeane Catanzaro-Banes and Leah Banes, Stephanie Kowalski, Megan Tenney and Andrew Palinski, with “Color Constellation” by Virginia Melnyk Designs.

Guests were encouraged to join the celebration and come dressed up as a fairy or other favorite mystical character.

The Fairy House Festival was supported by the Cullen Foundation.
