As the weather warms, news comes of cold treats coming to Youngstown.
De Dee’s Dairy announced on social media plans to locate a second ice cream shop in the Village of Youngstown, directly behind Youngstown Galley at 400 Main St.
Online Facebook posts from the Youngstown Business and Professional Association credited the involvement of Youngstown Galley owner Rebecca Poletti, who has operated her own ice cream parlor inside the diner at Main and Lockport streets.
In an online reply to The Sentinel’s inquiry, De Dee’s on Friday stated, “We are excited to contribute to the Youngstown community. We don't have an exact date as to when we will be opening yet. We will be in there cleaning and painting over the next few weeks so if I had to guess we would probably try and open the end of March beginning of April.”
An earlier online story by WIVB News 4 Buffalo said news of the Youngstown move was announced Wednesday following earlier posts by De Dee’s that asked customers where they wanted a second location.
“We can’t thank all of you enough for your guesses, shares, love AND support! ♥️ We can’t WAIT to spread the warmth of De Dee’s Dairy Traditions on to a new area for others to enjoy,” De Dee’s said in its post.
De Dee’s popular flagship sweet shop is located on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls.
