Venue shines spotlight on its potential
In the Artpark & Company season guidebook, Executive Director Sonia Kozlova Clark writes, “In our visioning process (speaking of a new master plan), we are inspired by the idea that ARTPARK = ART + NATURE + CULTURE for all.”
On Sunday afternoon, that idea became reality.
Art, of the theatrical kind, was on display courtesy of the theater academy students. Almost three-dozen elementary- and high school-aged youth staged a grand version of “Aladdin Jr.” Shows on Saturday and Sunday afternoon capped an action-packed camp that began in July. Nature was the backdrop later Sunday afternoon, as families and children played in the Percussion Garden. Across the Emerald Grove, Moshe Shulman Trio gave a culturally enriching concert of songs composed by its award-winning namesake.
With music, theater and dance partnering with art, nature and culture, Artpark lived up to its aspirations.
