In a recent Facebook post on the "Music Mania Mondays" page shared by the Town of Niagara account, it announced that the 2018 "Music Mania Mondays" concert schedule would be released on Monday, April 16.
Coming back for another year, the Monday concert series gives the Town of Niagara and surrounding communities an entertaining way to spend Monday nights in the Town of Niagara Veterans Memorial Community Park, 7000 Lockport Road.
Town of Niagara Supervisor Lee Wallace had high expectations for the 2018 series.
"When the town made the commitment in 2015, it's increased in quality every year since then and I think 2018 could be the best schedule ever. Our July 7 Pride in the Park event is going to be one to remember, as well," Wallace said.
Wallace added that the concert series might very well be one of the best commodities the town offers, as it gives residents and the surrounding communities a venue to attend following the weekend.
"With all the food venues and acts, people are excited and look forward to the event each Monday. ... It's become a real important part of the community as a whole," Wallace said.
The event is also important to the town, as it supports local businesses, clubs and not-for-profit organizations. Wallace said every Monday a new not-for-profit runs the 50/50 drawing and clubs like the town's Lions Club will serve food.
Wallace said it's nice to see what the series does for the town.
"It's gratifying to see the town come together and to see what it does for the local businesses and not-for-profits and everything. ... I would say, the series presents no negatives to the town at all," he said.
In the past, the "Music Mania Mondays" series has provided the town with local and national acts. Concerts for 2018 are slated to begin June 11.
