New York City theater director and visual artist Carin Jean White had one goal in mind in presenting this year's Fairy House Festival at Artpark: To create a land of enchantment; to build worlds and magic.
Based on the execution of the acts - and the entranced reaction of children and families - mission accomplished.
Fairies flew high above the state park Saturday as costumed characters performed sketches and took pictures with winged youngsters. Audiences were spellbound with visual, whimsical and just plain unusual performances from The Lost Wheels of Time (Israel), Circus Orange (Canada) and Giraffe Royal (Estonia).
Kids made T-shirts, heard stories and sipped tea in creative hands-on activities. The day concluded with a wedding and fairy ball.
The Fairy House Festival continues from noon until 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 per person. Find more information in the story links below the photos.
