Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announces the addition of John L. DeBerry III, M.D., a veteran urologist and Buffalo native, to its surgical team. DeBerry joins NFMMC from Roswell Park Cancer Institute and brings extensive expertise in general urology, urologic oncology, and minimally invasive surgery to significantly enhance the quality of care for patients throughout the Niagara region.
With over three decades of experience, DeBerry previously served as assistant director of urology at Buffalo General Hospital and clinical associate professor at the University at Buffalo. His professional experience includes significant contributions to treating urinary tract infections (UTIs), prostate cancer, and various complex urological conditions.
DeBerry’s professional recognition includes the American Cancer Society's Outstanding Clinician Award, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Outstanding Contribution to Community Award, and the Black Achievers Award. He actively maintains memberships in professional organizations such as the American Urological Association and the National Medical Association.
Board-certified by the American Board of Urology, DeBerry earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where he also completed both his general surgery and urology residencies before finishing his fellowship in urologic oncology at RPCI.
